# Study in Turkey & North Cyprus for Nigerians: Visa & MDCN

## How can a Nigerian student study in Turkey or North Cyprus?

Since 5 January 2026 all Turkish visa applications in Nigeria go through Sefa Visa (Abuja, and Lagos since June 2026). Nigeria is on the list of countries that need a visa before travelling to North Cyprus: first a North Cyprus e-visa number from kktc-evize.gov.ct.tr, then a Turkish transit visa through Sefa. The Turkish embassy notes that a North Cyprus e-visa does not guarantee the transit visa. Applying through Taktik is free.

> **Leave enough time for visas** For North Cyprus you need two visas one after the other, and the North Cyprus e-visa does not guarantee the Turkish transit visa. Start both applications early once you have your acceptance letter.

1. Talk to an advisor: Together we pick the programs and universities that fit your grades, budget and language.
2. Send your documents: You send your documents once; we apply to several universities for you.
3. Get your offer: We follow up until the offer letter and explain the payment terms. You pay tuition directly to the university.
4. Enrol and settle in: Airport pickup, registration, dormitory and residence-permit follow-up.

### Where do I apply for a Turkish visa in Nigeria?

According to the Turkish Embassy in Abuja, since 5 January 2026 all applications go through Sefa Visa, and the Lagos office has been open since 1 June 2026.

### Which visas do I need for North Cyprus?

First a North Cyprus e-visa number from kktc-evize.gov.ct.tr, then a Turkish transit visa through Sefa Visa (from 1 October 2026, per the embassy notice). At the North Cyprus border your acceptance letter gets you a 90-day student entry visa.

### What are MDCN's requirements for foreign-trained doctors?

According to MDCN's assessment-exam notice: a school listed in WDOMS, global (EPIC) verification, a current licence and a Certificate of Good Standing from the regulator of the country of training, and an English paper if teaching was not in English.

### What is the Türkiye Bursları scholarship, and does Taktik apply for it?

It is the Turkish government scholarship, and you apply for it free and directly on the official site turkiyeburslari.gov.tr. The 2026 call ran from 10 January to 20 February 2026; the next dates are not yet published there. Taktik does not apply for this scholarship; we help with private universities, which have their own scholarships and discounts.
