Frequently asked questions about studying in Turkey and Northern Cyprus
Is Taktik’s consultation and admission really free?
Yes. Study consultation, choosing a program and university, submitting your application and following up your admission through Taktik are completely free. Tuition is paid according to the university’s official fees.
How much does it cost to study at a private university in Turkey?
Tuition depends on the university and programme. At Istanbul Aydın and Bahçeşehir, for example, bachelor’s programmes start at around USD 5,000 a year and Medicine is up to about USD 25,000 a year. Each programme page shows its exact fee, and admission through Taktik is free.
Do I need an entrance exam for private universities in Turkey?
Most private universities in Turkey admit international students based on their academic record (high-school diploma or previous degree and grades), so no national entrance exam is needed. Some programs such as medicine, dentistry or the arts may have extra requirements like an exam, interview or portfolio.
What is the language of instruction, and do I need a language certificate?
Many programs are taught in English and some in Turkish. If you don’t have a recognised language certificate, you can usually take the university’s placement exam or join a preparatory language year. The exact requirements are listed on each program page.
Which documents do I need to apply?
Usually a passport, your high-school diploma or previous degree, transcripts, a photo and, if available, a language certificate. Master’s and PhD programs may also ask for a CV, a motivation letter and reference letters. Each program page lists the exact documents.
Are degrees from Turkish universities recognised?
Turkish universities operate under the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and Turkey is part of the Bologna Process. If you plan to use your degree in your home country, check its recognition rules; Taktik advisers can guide you.
Should I study in Turkey or Northern Cyprus?
Both offer English-taught programs and a range of tuition fees. Turkey has larger cities and more universities, and many universities in Northern Cyprus are also recognised by Turkey’s YÖK. The right choice depends on your program, budget and career plans.
How do I get a student residence permit?
International students apply for a student residence permit after final enrolment at the university. Taktik supports you with the documents, the residence permit steps and finding accommodation.
