Academic overview

Acıbadem University was founded in 2007 under the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YÖK). Its founder is the Acıbadem Health and Education Foundation, which is linked to the Acıbadem Healthcare Group; according to the university, the group runs 22 hospitals and 18 medical centers in 5 countries. This link gives health students clinical training in real hospital settings.

The university has 5 faculties, 4 institutes and 2 vocational schools: the School of Medicine, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Health Sciences (Physiotherapy, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Healthcare Management), the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Molecular Biology and Genetics) and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology). For international students Medicine is offered only in English, and there is no bachelor’s Dentistry program; only an associate degree in Oral and Dental Health.

Campus life

All faculties are on the Kerem Aydınlar Campus at Kayışdağı Caddesi No:32, Ataşehir, Istanbul, a district on the Asian side of the city with access to business centers and public transport.

The campus highlight is the CASE medical simulation center. According to the university, more than 200,000 training sessions have been held there and more than 40,000 foreign physicians have been trained, and it is the only center in Türkiye with an Advanced Endoscopic/Robotic Surgery Training Center. The campus also has skills and research laboratories, a library, a sports center, restaurants and a student food court.

The Kerem Aydınlar student dormitories are within walking distance of the campus. For clinical training, health students attend Acıbadem Healthcare Group hospitals in Istanbul.

The university’s main and only campus in Ataşehir, home to all faculties, the CASE simulation center, laboratories and the sports center, with dormitories within walking distance.

Admissions

International admission is based on a document review, and the final decision is made by the faculty commission. Minimums from the official university page:

High school GPA: 90/100 for Medicine and 60/100 for other programs
SAT: Medicine 1400 (minimum 700 Math), English programs 1100, Turkish programs 830
ACT: Medicine 30, English programs 22, Turkish programs 20; IB: Medicine 35, others 28; TR-YÖS: Medicine 450, others 350
Applicants with one of these exams are prioritized over diploma-only applicants. Entrance exam scores are valid for two years.

English: for English-taught programs, TOEFL iBT 80, PTE Academic 67 or YDS 85. Without a certificate, students take the university placement exam and, if needed, the English Preparatory Program (USD 5,500).

Turkish: Turkish-taught programs require a B2 Turkish certificate (e.g. TÖMER or Yunus Emre Institute) before registration. Students of English-taught Medicine and Nutrition certify Turkish by the end of year 3, and English-taught Nursing by the end of the first semester.

Does Acıbadem offer Dentistry?

No. Acıbadem has no professional Dentistry degree; it offers only an associate degree in Oral and Dental Health (Turkish, USD 3,500).

Is Medicine at Acıbadem also taught in Turkish?

In the official 2026–2027 international list, Medicine is offered in English only.

What grades or scores are needed for Medicine?
