Important for Iranian students in medical fields: Northern Cyprus universities are not on Iran's list of approved foreign universities for the evaluation of medical, dental and pharmacy degrees (2026–2027 entries). If you plan to return and work in Iran, check this before choosing; the full explanation is in our guide to the official list of foreign universities.

Extra costs people forget

  • English preparatory year if you have no language certificate: at EMU, 3,520–4,613 USD plus 250 USD per term. IELTS 5.0 (6.0 for medicine) exempts you.
  • Student residence permit and insurance: paid yearly; the university announces the amount at registration.
  • Flights: flights to Ercan (ECN) usually connect through Istanbul.
